GibbsCAM Production Milling supports 2-axis through simple 3-axis wireframe machining with full functionality for contouring, pocketing with unlimited bosses/islands, thread milling, face milling, 2D/3D spiral creation, drilling with support for many drill cycles, tapping, and boring. Simple 4th-axis positioning is also supported. Automatic cycles for face milling, such as spiral, zig-zag, back and forth and one direction, allow material to be cleaned off the top of a part. GibbsCAM Production Milling provides easy-to-use, powerful programming capability for your machine tools. See module
GibbsCAM Solids Import provides entry-level support for machining solid models. Solid models can be read, viewed and manipulated. Geometry can be selected and extracted for machining.
Using this option you can import a solid model, view it, extract geometry from selected edges, which can then be machined. This option is ideal for users who have been machining wireframe geometry who want to expand their capabilities to support rudimentary machining of solids. See module
GibbsCAM 2.5D Solids provides significant surface and solid modeling capabilities. Functionality to directly machine surfaces and solids is also included.
With this module, you have the ability to create, import and modify solid models and then generate programs to machine them. Specialized tools are also provided to import, repair and automatically solidify surface data. Using GibbsCAM 2.5D Solids, CNC programs can be created faster and easier, making you more efficient and productive. See module
VoluMill™ for GibbsCAM is an ultra-high performance toolpath (UHPT) option that uses a continuous, high-speed toolpath for an optimized CNC program. See module
The most comprehensive of GibbsCAM’s solid-based machining capabilities, SolidSurfacer® provides advanced surface/solids modeling functionality and 3-axis multi-surface and solids machining. SolidSurfacer is ideally suited for mold cavities, cores, dies, aerospace, medical and automotive components. SolidSurfacer is more powerful than ever with Advanced 3D with High-Speed Machining, and provides toolpath tailored for high-speed machining and hard-metal cutting. See module
The GibbsCAM 5-Axis Option supports simultaneous 4- and 5-axis machining with various tool types. In combination with GibbsCAM MTM, it also supports sophisticated multi-task machines with live tooling on articulated heads. It includes various machining styles and machining strategies for roughing and finishing, with full tool-axis control, plus application-specific functions such as projection, swarf, electrode, impeller, turbine and cylinder-head machining. For additional accuracy, the 5-axis Option provides collision detection and gouge checking for various tool shapes, with appropriate avoidance options. Toolpath is verified, on the fly, with the integrated GibbsCAM Cut Part Rendering, while GibbsCAM Machine Simulation can provide further verification with dynamic display of work piece, cutting tools and all machine-tool components in motion.
